  • What is Invisalign
    This series of clear, custom-fitted aligners helps to straighten your teeth - minus metal wires or brackets. We use advanced 3D computer imaging technology during the consultation process to develop a custom treatment plan for you based on your unique smile. A series of custom clear aligners will then be made to fit your teeth specifically during each stage of the Invisalign treatment process.
  • How does the Invisalign process work?
    As your treatment progresses, Invisalign clear plastic aligners are designed to move your teeth in small increments. You will need to wear each aligner for approximately two weeks before replacing it with the next one in the series. This process will continue until your teeth have moved into their prescribed, corrected positions. Your dentist will determine the duration of your Invisalign treatment based on your specific needs.
  • How long does the Invisalign treatment take?
    Depending on your specific needs, your dentist will determine the duration of your Invisalign treatment. Factors that could influence the duration of your treatment include the misalignment of your teeth or jaw, the shape of your bite, and the amount of movement needed to correct the issue.
  • What are Invisalign aligners made of?
    Your Invisalign aligners are BPA-free, and are made with USP Class VI medical-grade, high molecular weight polyurethane resins.
  • How often do I have to visit the dentist?
    Invisalign aligners do not need any tightening or adjustments - you'll just change to a new set of aligners every two weeks. Your dentist will schedule brief appointments with you every 4 to 6 weeks. At these appointments, your dentist will review your progress and general oral health. This is also a good opportunity to ask any questions and for your treatment to be adjusted as required.
  • What does a complete dental cleaning exam include?
    A visual inspection of your mouth so the dentist or hygienist can predict any problem in the future. This can also check for early signs of cancer, gum disease, grinding and assess the status of previous dental works. A complete medical history to see if there is any condition that might affect your dental health. Dental X-ray to check your cavities, fillings, fracture, wisdom teeth, underlying decay or bone loss. Professional deep teeth cleaning using modern technology like the Cavitron® system to remove plaque, tartar and bacteria.
  • Is teeth cleaning painful?
    Not at all, most people find it is a painless low-stress procedure. However, some patients who have gum recession or inflammation can experience sensitivity to teeth and gums during that. You can consult with our hygienists to avoid sensitivity and get recommendations for special toothpaste.
  • How often do I need to clean my teeth professionally?
    According to the Canadian Dental Association, you should see a dentist or hygienist to clean and examine your teeth every 3 to 6 months. It is very common to put off your dental check when you feel like you did a good job cleaning your teeth at home. However, plaque takes roughly six months to harden into tartar to the point that it needs to be removed from your mouth. While everyday brushing and flossing eliminate plaque, if you don't brush enough or in some spots, such as the inside of your lower teeth, plaque hardens into tartar. Only a trained hygienist with specialised dental devices can remove tartar. Tartar can start to build up under your gum line after six months, signalling the development of gum disease.
